I would like to take this opportunity to let you know of the parish programme for Lent 2014:
Shrove Tuesday.
The Parish vestry Meeting will take place at 18h00 on Shrove Tuesday 5th March 2014. Hopefully the meeting will be a fairly short one. I, as Rector will give my Rector’s Report for 2013, followed by the wardens’ Report for 2013. Gary Schmidt will present the 2013 Financial Report. The Elections will not take long, these have already taken place at the Chapelry Vestry Meetings. The Meeting will be followed by a pancake Supper in the McDonald Hall.
Ash Wednesday.
The following services are to take place on Ash Wednesday :
09h00- Holy Communion and Imposition of Ashes, at All Saints, Winterton.
18h00 child-friendry Holy communion/Imposition of Ashes @ Bergville.
Bible Studies:
We are using the Diocesan Lent course for 2014. This deals with the Diocesan vision. The themes are:
- Anchored in the Love of Christ
- Committed to God’s Mission
- Transformed by the Holy Spirit
- Worship that Feeds and Empowers us
- God’s Redemptive Hope and Healing
- Communities of Faith
The Bible Studies will be as follows:
Wednesday afternoon 14h30 at the Rectory in Bergville.
Thursday evening 18h00 in the home of Warren and Barbara Sclanders’ in Winterton.
Every second Tuesday evening @ 18h00 at the Cavern.
Sunday Themes.
These will follow the themes for the Lent Course.
9th March “Anchored in the Love of Christ”
l6th March “Committed to God’s Mission”
23rd March “Transformed by the Holy Spirit”
30th March “Worship that Feeds and Empowers us”
6th April “God’s Redemptive Hope and Healing”

Maundy Thursday 17th March at 7.00 pm Combined Foot-washing Service @ Lutheran Church Winterton.
Good Friday:
Good Friday 18ft March at 8.30 am Good Friday Service @ St Patrick’s church.
12h00 Good Friday Service @ All Saints’ Church Winterton. John Green, Caroline Beech and Kevin Robertson will lead these services.
18h00 Good Friday service @ the Cavern.
Easter Day:
Easter child-friendly Holy Communion @ St Patrick’s Church Bergville @ 20h30.
Easter child-friendly Holy Communion @ All Saints’ Church Winterton @ 09h00.
Easter Service @ Hlalanathi @ 10h45.
Easter Service @ Alpine Heath @ 11h15.
Easter Holy Communion @ the Cavern @ 18h00.
